It's finally happened! To quote iconic Australian Tony Barber, ‘Let’s go shopping!’ And never fear, there are no His ‘n’ Hers Watch Sets or Reclining Lounges in sight! (Or leggy ladies in bikinis and stilettos - sorry, gentlemen.) Instead, a stylish range of our most covetable lamps and accessories is now available on Shopping Cart, so you can purchase at your leisure, with the security of PayPal.

We have made it simple for you to find the perfect shades to complement your interiors by putting together a selection of our most popular sizes and designs. Our kids' Nursery Sets (fantastic value) will be available, plus all of our exclusive Seven Dandelions timber bases, including the ultra-desirable new Floor Tripod, cushions, and a range of our funky Jute Upcycled Coffee Sack cushions and shades. We will be updating the product catalog regularly, and for the harder-to-please, custom orders will still be available, simply by emailing a contact form through to us, as before.

Hello everyone,

We are hurtling towards Christmas at a dizzying speed, and as usual, a week seems to have escaped me, and suddenly its all happening next week!! Visitors, markets, shopping, cooking, housework (notice where that one appears on the list of priorities…) Kelly and I wish to thank everyone who has supported us through the year, whether by purchasing from us, or simply with their generous feedback. It has been a big year, and next year is shaping up to be even busier (with two kids starting school we will have a bit more time to bring some of our bountiful cache of ideas to fruition). We hope you all have a wonderfully jolly and love-filled festive season.

All the best,

Jenny and Kelly

Vintage Paris map - new fabric

Qu'est-ce que c'est? This is our newest fabric, a vintage Parisian street map featuring famous landmarks such as Notre Dame and the Eiffel Tower, with an authentic, antique looking texture. It looks fantastic made up into lampshades, cushions or wall art, and the almond/black palette will fit well with a variety of colour schemes. I’ve already put my order in!

Rained out!

Unfortunately, Kel and I had to pull the pin on tonight’s twilight Market due to (very) inclement weather! We are disappointed, but lampshades do not sit happily with wet, blustery conditions. The prospect of an arduous journey down to Brisbane, setting-up in the rain, followed by an evening huddled under the marquee peering through sheets of water in search of customers was not exactly tempting. It is such a shame for the organizers and everyone involved, but not much you can do about the weather!

Hangman bases a success

Hello,

I am thrilled to have our new Hangman lamp bases in my possession. I think they look fantastic, and judging by the response they received at the Young Designer Market on Sunday, I am not alone. A big thank-you to the talented Jason who custom-makes them for us here on the Sunshine Coast. They are constructed from Rosewood, with the table lamp standing at 50cm, and the floor lamp at 170cm, priced at $180 and $280 respectively. I will get some proper photos of them up on the website soon, in the meantime, here is an amateur pic of the table lamp, pictured with 13in shade in Red/Choc Blade fabric. What do you think? Jenny

New base designs unveiled on Sunday!

Hello,

I am anticipating a balmy Sunday in Brisbane for the Young Designer Market at South Bank. I will be there bright and early, with my wonderful sister, Michele, in tow to help me, as Kelly is sunning herself in Bali - but we won’t dwell on that!  Markets start at 10, till 4pm. I will have our divine new Birdsong lampshade with me, featuring a lovely Japanese linen with birds and leaves in blues, purples and greens, on a natural background. It is perfect for tall freestanding shades, (80cm high freestanding lampshade with feet $220 incl. fitting) and makes a beautiful feature in a room. Team it with some co-ordinating cushions to make your room as pretty as a picture!

I am really excited to be unveiling our brand new timber bases on Sunday too. They will be available to order from the market, and I will put some pics of them up on the website next week, and feature them in a new newsletter (if you aren’t already signed up for the newsletter, use our contact form to send us your email address, and become privy to all the latest news and designs from Seven Dandelions.)

Hope you all have a relaxing weekend.

Till next time,

Jenny

Goodbye to Eumundi Markets

Hello everyone,

After much deliberation and a few little tears, Kelly and I have decided the time has come for us to move on from Eumundi Markets. We will really miss our Wednesdays there – not the early mornings or setting/packing-up, but all the other special things: the friendly atmosphere and camaraderie unique to the markets, being able to buy beautiful freshly picked produce every week, so many delicious food stalls, being on hand to snap up new designs and products as other stall holders bring them in, and most of all, the wonderful, talented friends we have made there. It has been so lovely to be immersed in such a creative and interesting environment, and has certainly helped us, and our business grow. However, now we have our Wednesdays free we can devote more time to other aspects of the business, including creating some new designs, so keep watching!

Back to our clever friends at Eumundi – you should check out some of their beautiful creations. Have a look at: www.razzamadazzle.com.auwww.momoko.com.au and www.belliciouspregnancy.com.au.

Or if you are lucky enough to be up here on the Sunshine Coast, drop in to the Eumundi Markets every Wednesday and Saturday to see the huge array of desirables on display.

Night markets

Other news – giving you a bit of notice that Seven Dandelions will be at a special Night Young Designer Market in Brisbane on August Tuesday 10th, being held as part of the Mercedes Benz Fashion Festival, in the usual place on Little Stanley St, South Bank. It sounds like fun – we hope to see you there!

We will also be doing the usual first Sunday of the month YDM on 1st August.

All the best, Jenny

Word Bird featured in Real Living!

Hello everyone,

Time for Kel and I to pop the champagne again - our popular signature design, the Word Bird shade, has made it onto the pages of one of our favourite interior mags, Real Living. It appears on page 13 of the July issue, as one of the editor's picks, which we are rather chuffed about. Check it out. We are bracing ourselves for the rush! We are also busy getting stock ready for the next Young Designer Market, which has snuck up on us again - see you this Sunday 4th, at Little Stanley St., South Bank, Brisbane. We will have new shades, cushions and wall art, including some lovely linen prints of Kelly's own design! And the good news is, our cushions have dropped in price to $49/each, or $90 for two. Hope to see you there!

All the best, Jenny
