Care and Cleaning
Seven Dandelions lampshades need to be treated with love and respect to ensure their beauty and longevity. Be careful not to squash or bend shades as the plastic inside will mark if creased. They benefit from regular and gentle dusting to prevent a build-up of dust/dirt. Do not use vacuum cleaners/wet cloths to clean.
We advise that you keep shades away from obvious sources of moisture/liquid. In the event of a stain, we recommend that you gently press the outside of shade with a dry cloth, whilst supporting the back of the shade. The plastic lining inside shade can be wiped with a damp cloth when necessary.
Diffusers
Perspex diffusers can easily be popped out to clean/remove insects and inserted back into shade. Gently push diffuser upwards, then tilt and pull down through shade to remove. Wipe with a damp cloth/spray and re-insert into shade.
Cushions
Cushion covers can be hand-washed and spun dry, and dried flat in the shade. Our Recycled PET cushion inserts can be cold hand washed and line dried.
Stainless Steel Fittings
Fittings should not require cleaning often, however, in the event that they do, we recommend that you use warm water with a microfibre cloth, being sure to dry with a soft towel afterwards to remove any moisture.
Which light bulbs?
We recommend that you use no higher than an 11W CLF (60W incandescent) bulb in smaller (ie 8in or 11 in diameter) shades, and no higher than a 15W (75W) in larger (ie 13in or 17in) diameter shades. We cannot be held responsible for any damage caused by the use of inappropriate bulbs.
Lifetime
Lampshades do not have a finite life span, and eventually the plastic lining may discolour/yellow slightly due to exposure to sunlight and UVA/UBA from light bulbs. This is classified as general wear and tear and does not render the shades suitable for returns/refunds.
